Who s In Control?
Are you being controlled by your husband, or better yet do you know that he is controlling you? Control is one of the many warning signs of abuse, it comes with jealousy. Why are you allowing yourself to be questioned in a manner like that of a child. You are his wife and mate, not his child.
Abuse is not always about being physical, it really is about controlling the other. Once a person has control over someone they begin to doubt themselves and their own way of thinking becomes muddled.
Control will begin with what do you want this or need this for, especially money. When you have to ask for every single dime you are giving in to his demands.
His demands can also be an account of where you spend your time and who you spend it with, where are you going and with who. The controller wants to know who you talked to. You become intimidated by the way he looks at you. Those frightening looks when you haven't gotten permission to make simple everyday decisions,
Once you give in to his behavior you are giving him the control that he wants, making you a target and quite possibly the next victim for a different form of abuse. No person should be able to keep you down, and they won't if you don't let them.
Keeping a faith and belief in yourself is the key to not forgetting who you are. Once you loose sight of yourself is when you start being not only a target but a victim as well.
