How to Save a Marriage - 3 Things You Must Never Do

If you are heading toward divorce, you need to learn how to save a marriage right away. If there is no denying your marriage is in trouble, you have got to take action if you want to save it, and chances are you do want to save it. If you're still in love with your spouse, breaking up is likely more painful than you can contemplate.

Fortunately, you can learn how to save a marriage. In fact, any marriage can be rescued from the brink. However, before you start doing the things you need to do to renew your love, you have to know what NOT to do.

In fact, the things you must never do are just as important as doing the right things. Here are the three things you must avoid at all costs if you want your spouse back.

1. Don't beg your spouse to stay. Begging is a huge turn-off! We are all attracted to people who are strong and independent. Seeming like you're so weak that you'll crumble to pieces without your spouse may earn you pity, but it won't earn you the unconditional love and devotion you want back.

2. Don't try to buy your spouse's love. Expensive gifts may act as a temporary bandage on the problem (and usually, the effect is very temporary), or the gift may backfire, causing your spouse to become angry at thinking you're trying to buy her love.

In fact, expensive gifts can come across as really superficial and meaningless. You might get further with a home-made gift, since that will show you put some time and effort into it. However, even that isn't guaranteed to work.

3. Don't spy on your spouse. Even if you think he or she is cheating, avoid the temptation because if you get caught, it's just going to push him/her further away, maybe for good. So, don't open the email, don't check the calls on the cell phone (or the bill, for that matter), and so on.
