How You Can Learn to Love

We attend long years upon long years in school, so much that the number of years we spend in academic pursuit amounts to a great percentage of our lives. But how many years do we spend on learning how to socialise and liking someone else? Zero. There is zero importance put on such a subject which society appreciates but has yet to put a dollar value to. Social aspects of life are important. Simply being popular opens up choices and opportunities. We dedicate time to relationships like no other matters on Earth. Since we have to face people and manage our relationships with them on a daily basis, why are we not being taught about them in school?

In this age, are we still telling ourselves that being a social person comes naturally? Are we still pretending it is a innate skill instead of something that can be learned? In today's world, there are still a lot of single people. They have a job and good personalities but has yet to be able to find someone to fall in love with. This is a problem that no ones seems to be solving. We need an understanding of how to love another and get another to love us. Beyond that, we have to learn how to keep the relationship going steady. A lot can be learned about building relationships through learning from books or modeling yourself after someone you know who is socially-popular. Recognize that it is really a learned skill, that it is a issue that we can do something about it. There a lot of books out there that teaches the basics and attractions and relationships, and the library is a good place to get started with.

Not knowing how to connect to other people is a serious problem. In school, the person will not know how to make friends and goes through a lonely school life. At the end of it, the student will face a very low self-esteem. At work, the socially illiterate employee will be a outcast as he/she cannot communicate effective what they want and are also unable to understand the colleagues' feelings. "Social illiteracy" is common and it should not come across as surprising. How will we expect a good result from a subject that is never properly taught?

It is possible to learn how to start and build relationships, just like anything else in the world, with good attitude and efforts. The more we learn, the more mistakes we can avoid and the more accepted we will become. The hard fact is we will have to face relationships anyway, so why not start learning about something that we have to touch on on a day-to-day basis?
