Cupid s Secrets to Staying in Love

Do you remember when you first fell head over heels in love with your mate? Whether it be a year ago or 20, do you still have that same passion driving your relationship and desires?

Chances are "no" if you don't make a concerted effort daily. One of the reasons that a new relationship is so exciting is that chemically our bodies react. Scientists believe it was initially this way to ensure survival of the species. Once mating occurs, the chemicals start to cause less intense feelings. I do believe that human-beings were designed to be monogamous. But modern humans are seemingly addicted to sexual excitement, instant gratification and almost unwilling to do anything extra to maintain this.

If we look back not more than 60 years ago, things were different with couples, families and marriages. The divorce rate was nearly nonexistent and family was the most important thing to most people. In talking with married couples from that era, just a few simple ingredients seem to ring true and consistent... love, mutual respect, romance and intimacy. Something Cupid didn't tell you just before targeting you!

So how can we get this back in to our modern lives? By actually MAKING time for each other, by marrying for love and mutual respect vs. the sexually charged energy we first feel in the beginning. The art of love and lovemaking has been all but lost to sex that can only offer short-lived gratification. Ever heard anyone say "it was just sex"? So why would you want "just sex" in your relationship when it could easily become true love-making with a little research and effort?

There are many aspects to a truly "happy" relationship, and love-making is a very necessary ingredient. I personally feel that it's the absolute most you can share with another person. We are at our most vulnerable state emotionally and physically during this time. That's not something I would willingly share with an uncaring partner!

Finding resources to enhance your love-making encounters is easy... but finding effective resources that can change things immediately for both partners is nearly impossible. It's almost like trying to find that needle in the proverbial haystack! Tons of BAD information or advice from "so-called" experts (sex-perts) that seem good while reading them, but leave you wondering why they didn't work for you after attempting them.

So here's just a couple of suggestions to help spice up the romance - some will take time and planning, but will pay off in major ways!

MEN - Try planning a "date" night... make ALL arrangements, and ask your mate out like you did when you were dating. Perhaps a phone call - be sincere! Keep the conversation about the date short. This is where truly "knowing" your partner will pay off in big ways for you... if you have children, either plan to have a sitter (if they're younger) or plan around them. If you're in the mood for going out, make reservations! Sometimes, staying in can be MUCH more meaningful as you'll have to plan, prepare and cook the meal. Again - make ALL the arrangements. Something out of the ordinary that will show your mate that SHE is worth going the extra mile for.

LADIES - This may sound cliche but making "the first move" will more than likely arouse your mate! Men usually respond to physical signals... but we also have a softer side... be supportive and complement your man! Everyone loves to feel special, sexy and desired!
