How to Avoid Becoming a Divorce Statistic
Have you been thinking about divorce but really wanted to avoid becoming the next person added to divorce statistic?
I want to share with you three key elements that will keep you from being the next number in someone's numerical data base and enjoy a life of wonderful friendship and love with your spouse.
It all begins with communication. Talking and sharing with your spouse is a way of developing friendship which then leads to intimacy, and then oneness. This is a time of opening your hearts desires in life, your goals, and deepest feelings. Knowing and having someone who listens will provide emotional strength, encouragement and moral support in each others endeavors.
Then there is honesty, be truthful and a person of your words in everything you do. I say that because in telling the truth there is no reason to remember a lie. Being honest also builds a lasting trust and a confidence that brings security to the relationship. The sincere and reliability of your words is the bond that helps you and your spouse overcome times of struggle and difficulties.
Love unconditionally. The greatest act of expressing love to your spouse is learning to forgive and looking beyond your mate's fault and imperfection. It's about focusing on the good qualities and speaking words of affirmation to enhance those positive traits which make your spouse excel in life. Loving without condition also means being a servant and giving of your self to acts of service and expecting nothing in return. Basically you just treat and provide for your spouse as you would like them to do to you. Therefore take the initiative and set the example by loving unconditionally first.
We have all heard of these simple words at some point in our marriages but it's the ones who act on them that truly avoid becoming the next divorce statistic.
