Divorcing Your Children

Its sad that in this day and age two grown people can't seem to hash out their differences and seek common ground, if for nothing else, then for the sake of their little ones. Presently, I am going through what seems to be an inevitable divorce from a lady that I have been with for six long years and also created two darling kids with along the way. I wish it was another way and quite frankly I believe that she does to. The only problem is that I see my faults (well I think I do anyway), and she seems to believe that I'm the only one with a problem.

My main concern is that my daughter will forever be over scrutinized by an illogical thinking mother that wants her to be twelve before she turns five. Her expectations of my ex-wife to be are far too demanding for a four year old to live up to, and she just doesn't seem to get it. I see my daughter's days of being too young to worry about life fade away as she is tormented by her mother's ways. This has become too much for me to handle.

So yes, I think that sometimes a divorce is unavoidable. But with that said, my children are my life. With her being in the military, I'm going to have to do everything in my power to let my kids know that their father divorced mommy and not them. I'm going to have to go above and beyond to be in their precious lives and let them understand that daddy still cares. Like I said, with her being in the military she will be moving from one place to another. This will make it very tough for visitations and sharing custody. But it will all be a part of letting them know that we as parents haven't divorced them.
