Why Your House Speaks Volumes to Your Date About Who You Really Are
Your potential date may really like you, feel a connection and perhaps is even playing out a future for you together in their mind. However if they visit your home and it is a hot mess, you may lose out. Your date may have doubts about whether or not your lifestyles will mess. If they are especially neat, they may not want to deal with someone who is unorganized or unclean. This can become a big point of contention.
The issue gets even deeper. A dirty home may signal much more then your personal housekeeping preference. It may be an indicator of who you are and where you are as a person. It may mean that you are:
Immature: Keeping a sloppy home can be a symptom of you just being immature. It's normal for young kids and teens to have a messy room, however, this is a phase that should be passed once an individual has entered adulthood.
Confused: A dirty home may mean that you are in an indecisive and confused time in your life, at time that might be best spent alone, sorting everything out.
Depressed: Not keeping up your space may also be indicative of you being depressed. When people are depressed, they stop taking care of themselves and/or their surroundings.
Stress: When people are under a great deal of stress, they often place cleaning somewhere low on the priority list.
Low Confidence: People, who don't take care of their house, may not have the proper amount of respect for them selves and may suffer from low confidence.
Laziness: A dirty home could simply be a sign of laziness. Laziness is very unattractive and will kill your long term chances with a potential partner.
Remember, the opposite holds true as well. If your home is neat and tidy this says something about you as well. It is evidence that you have a personal sense of pride, a value for your space and that you are organized and probably in a good place mentally. Of course, this isn't always the case, but in some cases it is.
Whom ever you bring into your house after, before or during a date will judge you based on its' appearance. It can make or break your opportunity for a long term relationship. Therefore, take adequate time to clean and organize your home and apartment. Get rid of the clutter and the things that you no longer need or have any use for.
