Dissolution in Ohio
A dissolution is a simplified way to file for a divorce. To qualify to file for divorce or dissolution in Ohio, the petitioner(s) must have been a resident of Ohio for at least six months and a resident of the county in which they file for a minimum of 90 days before filing their petition. In a dissolution, both spouses must sign the petition and attach a separation agreement which includes, among other things, a division of property, a plan for spousal support, if any, a custody and visitation plan if there are minor children involved, and a child support worksheet.
