Randy Moss Selfish?
Randy Moss has agreed in principle to a 3-year, $27 million dollar contract to stay with the New England Patriots. It was uncertain whether or not Randy Moss would stay with the New England Patriots, but in the end, it was about money, and fame, and oh yes, winning.
The New England Patriots give Randy Moss the best chance to stay in the limelight, while at the same time the ability to make serious jack. The New England Patriots need Randy Moss, and Randy Moss, whether he likes to admit it or not, needs the New England Patriots.
Brought back from the abyss of the NFL, Randy Moss' career was re-energized thanks to Tom Brady, the Patriots and a tremendous organization in New England. Still, the old Randy Moss made a cameo appearance this off-season. The Randy Moss that puts "me" in front of "we," as he has most of his NFL career.
Someone must have given Randy Moss some good advice this off-season, as he has made the right decision, both from a financial standpoint and a professional one. There is no doubt that Randy Moss is the best wide receiver in the NFL. Tom Brady and he will enjoy abusing NFL defenses again next year. Randy Moss, for all of the fanfare, has yet to win a Super Bowl. His best chance is with the New England Patriots.
Now that Randy Moss has gotten paid...again, he needs to become the good company man he was this past season, put his nose to the grindstone, and perform at an All-Pro level. But as always, it was about Randy Moss, and Randy Moss getting paid. He accepted less last year, knowing stats and the pot at the end of the rainbow would be waiting.
