Help Thou Mine Unbelief
Help thou mine Unbelief. Our most Gracious Heavenly Father. Your word tells us that we are to put you in remembrance of your word, being faithful servants to the ministry of Jesus Christ, your Son. We know Father that you are able to deliver us from all manner of hindrances and troubles, Illness and disease. This is your word Father; Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Make haste, O God, to deliver me;
The Sacred Flame Of The Heart: Part One
The Burning Heart When the heart burns passionately for the sacredness in life, it burns for the Holy Christos and its virtuous attributes so that we may reflect and live these in our own lives. It burns for sacred wisdom to learn of deeper paths of the inner heavenly kingdom, found within the soul. It burns for the Truth of all truths, the ultimate reality of God, beyond everything we thought was true. It burns to be free from the bitter shackles of worldliness, to become perfected and harmonized with its Creator, to become whole and unified with the Divine. It burns to serve and to love the most Holy One, to love Him more than ever before, and it burns to feel the love of God, for God first loved us so that we may grow to love Him.
Essential Taoism
In this outline on essential Taoism you will find quotations from the Chinese sages describing the Tao along with my (few and far between) comments. This is a subject that cannot be explained clearly. In fact Lao Tzu himself said: "The Tao that can be spoken of is not the real Tao." And also: "Those who know (the Tao) do not speak, those who speak do not know (the Tao)." Besides I do not have much to say because I am not enlightened. I cannot claim to have experienced the Tao any more than you have. Also the subject is such that even had I had a mystical experience I would be even then at a loss for words.
Christians Need News Too!
Ok, I admit it, I'm a news freak. I camp out on the Drudge Report and love to watch the various of news channels. I will even go so far as to say that Glenn Beck should run for President with Tucker Carlson as his VP. Maybe that's a bit goofy to say... but I like those guys, AND, to me, Katie Couric is America's Sweetheart. Anyway, there are a lot of news outlets in the world but what about the news that applies to the Christian lifestyle? I've been doing some research lately (and not posting), so here's what I found. There are 10 or so news sites that are themed as Christian in nature.
Trust And Obey Part III
Joshua was excited and eager to show God his desire to complete the task of conquering the Promised Land. He sent some men to spy out the land of Ai. The commanders, full of enthusiasm over their battle at Jericho, recommended that they send only two or three thousand men. He agreed and the army left. The men began their attack with confidence and determination to clear the land for Israel, but soon in utter shock they were forced to retreat. Thirty-six of the men died and in fear Joshua fell prostrate before the tent of the presence of God. Joshua 7: 10-12, "The Lord said to Joshua, 'Get up!
How Not to Be Left Behind
I was fairly young when I first answered an altar call in a Christian church. I had always loved God and walked with Him in companionship daily. So when I heard the invitation to come to the altar and give my life to Jesus, and have others pray with me there, I felt like I was just putting the finishing touch on my salvation. I remember the congregation singing, "Just As I Am" as an elderly member of the church prayed with me. When we stood up and she gave me a warm hug, I thought, now I know I am saved. But then I started wondering what had changed because I knelt and accepted Jesus. I didn"t feel any different, and wondered if everyone who went to the altar and said those words was saved.
Satanism and the U.S. Military
The United States has fallen far away from its once held status of a nation of God. Former members of satanic cults tell us that these cults slowly and incrementally lead new members into Satanic worship over a long period of time. First these satanic cults deny that God and Satan exist. Then they admit that Satan exists but explain that he is good. Then they introduce the worship of Satan. Finally they reveal Satan in his true evil nature. Satan has used the same tactics on the culture within the United States, he has introduced small incremental changes in our culture. The changes keep coming and they keep drawing America further and further away from Jesus Christ.
The Gospels as Literature - Fiction? Or Non-Fiction?
The Gospels are, among other things, a certain type of literature. The question is: What type? Do they display the tell-tale characteristics of fiction, or do they have more of the nitty gritty feel of reality? Gospel of John The Gospel of John has a number of personal eyewitness touches such as recalling the fragrance of Mary's pure nard perfume which she poured on Jesus' feet in the house at Bethany. And then there is the episode of Jesus writing in the dust with his finger when they brought him the woman caught in adultery. Those realistic accounts go hand in hand with the natural sounding conversations John sprinkles throughout his narrative.
Apostles - Legendary Heroes Or Real Men?
You remember those hand-picked lieutenants of Jesus -- the apostles? Jesus chose them to carry on his mission. And that's just what they were doing when the Gospels were composed. They were the leaders, preachers, and teachers of the early Christian movement. James, the older brother of John, had already died a martyr's death in A.D. 44. Legendary Heroes How do you expect these men to be portrayed in the Gospel narratives? If it's a made-up story, one thing we can be sure of, Jesus and his apostles will be the heroes. Bear in mind that myth-makers don't waste time on half-way measures;
