Premium On Terroism
The stock market experts coined a new word. TERRORIST PREMIUM. They say that terrorist premium on oil prices is as much as 15 dollars per barrel or about 20% of the price of Oil. More than the terrorists or terrorism, this premium is killing people silently. Terrorist threats and actions can cause temporary set back. They never succeeded so far in achieving any of their aims. The terrorist outrages in the world are drawing condemnation from all quarters even from those who sympathize with their causes. Only to grab world headlines they plan some dastardly acts. They can neither break the will of people or the governments.
Controlling Federal Spending: Can We Talk?
Federal spending will be just under $3 trillion dollars in the next fiscal year. This is outrageous and unnecessary. Members of congress give reelection top priority each day. The needs of America are a distant second. We should seek 25-30 year olds to run for congress. Among other priorities we would guide these young candidates to set an example by reducing congressional salaries and perks, including their hefty pensions. Voters might in turn support these candidates in larger numbers with many small donations and heavy internet support and with an eye toward making lobbyists as unwelcome as possible.
American Soft Power
With the beginning of twenty century, especially after the first world war, occurred fundamental change in international system, and dominant order based on Euro-center to be exchanged for new America-center order. This new order didn"t endure more than tow decade, and through other war America became a global super power. this super power beside the hard power (military and economy) considered soft power, for instance, culture, mass media, public opinion, human rights, humanitarian aids, even scholarships). This research will prove that soft power despite having great and powerful army and greater economy has had very important significant role in foreign policy of America.

Government Spending: What Does The Comptroller General Say?
David M. Walker is Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) Mr. Walker is "talking to anybody who will listen, about the fiscal black hole Washington has dug itself." He states "If the United States government conducts business as usual over the next few decades, a national debt that is already $8.5 trillion could reach $46 trillion or more, adjusted for inflation. That's almost as much as the total net worth of every person in America" -... How Much Is Outright Waste Each Year? Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) has been tracking wasteful government programs since 1984.
Is America Sleep Walking Through Its Political Issues?
A patient of mine recently experienced an unusual problem. Apparently, she got out of bed in the middle of the night, walked outside into her garage and entered her sports car. She was changing her car clock when her partner, who was in a panic, located her in the car. My patient was awakened by her partner and was confused and bewildered as they left the garage to resume their evening"s sleep. Sleep walking is not an unusual pattern. For many, it is an infrequent occurrence, but for others it is a lifelong experience. Recently, I have been wondering about the manner in which many of our citizens are "sleep walking" through the impact of our political landscape.
Nuclear Proliferation And The World
The latest hot topic of debate in world affairs for the last one month has been "Iran and Its Nuclear Energy Program". There are all kind of debates going on the effect of Nuclear Proliferation and its effects in World Peace. let me introduce my fellow readers to what exactly Nuclear Proliferation means: Nuclear proliferation is the spread of nuclear weapons production technology and knowledge to nations that do not already have such capabilities. It has been opposed by many nations with and without nuclear weapons, who fear that more countries with nuclear weapons may increase the possibility of nuclear warfare, de-stabilize international or regional relations, or infringe upon the national sovereignty of individual nation-states.
Resumption of Cold War
It does not comes as a surprise the comments made by Russian Strategic Missile Forces Commander Col. Gen. Nikolai Solovtsov. The comments came in response to the American Plans to deploy U.S Missiles in Poland and Checz republic. This looks like a resumption of Cold War antics by the two countries. The comments of Russian Strategic Missile Forces Commander Col. Gen. Nikolai Solovtsov is given below: MOSCOW: Russia may target its missiles against Poland and the Czech republic if the U.S. sets up its missile defense shield planned in the two East European countries. "If the Polish and Czech governments approve the decision [to deploy U.
China s Takeover and Assimilation of Tibet
Efforts on the part of the People's Republic of China to consolidate its control over Tibet continues unabated. The new Qinghai-Tibet railway (which makes use of BSP cars manufactured by Bombardier), is a political move geared toward strengthening Chinese influence and control over Tibet. The political scheming behind the project is underlined by the skepticism expressed by Chinese president Hu Jintao about the tourist value of the railway. The Western China Development policy, is another aspect of Beijing's reach. The policy will be used to justify the creation of infrastructure in an effort to extend PRC control over Tibet, rather than make any concessions to the "Middle Way" solution being proposed by Dharamsala-based Tibetan government-in-exile.
Qualify Them Before They Govern Us
COMPETENCE TO GOVERN Universally democracy prescribes that the leaders they elect need to be only citizens of that country. But the quality of democracy suffers if the leaders who aspire to lead them politically and govern them suffer from certain biases on the basis of race, religion, caste, creed, color etc. If the people who vote and people who lead are not thoroughly exposed to the democratic values, inequities, underdevelopment and divisions persist. This is especially true in developing countries where poverty, inequities and divisions can mar the judgment of the voters as well as the leaders they elect.
