The United States Will Need a President Born Between 1962 and 1967
As we look at the political divide in the United States between Democrats and Republicans we notice that things are just not right. We need to get along and develop a better sense of unity so we can maintain the forward progression of our nation and allow for the transitions which lie ahead. Recently our Online Think Tank took up this subject and tried to figure out the challenges that are forth coming and the future divides that we will need to conquer. There is another problem on the horizon as the baby boomers retire and impending social security bankruptcy approaches. The next generation will get a little upset at all the tax increases and knowing that they will not enjoy the benefits or payouts that the baby boomers are enjoying.
Hillary s Political Chances of Becoming President
Hillary Clinton"s life has always been under intense scrutiny by the American public. Americans seem to either love her or hate her, but they sure can"t ignore her. However, analysts are saying that this might just work in her favor during the election. Any presidential candidate would rather have people talk about him or her rather than respond with bored indifference. Hillary's challenge is to present herself as a strong woman-of-power along with warm sincerity. Being a woman, many people say that at times she's acting when doing the empathy thing. Her critics are not convinced that she can take the tough decisions that an American president is required to make.
American: A Democracy Lost?
Americans pride themselves on the fact there are the champions of democracy in the world. The basic principle behind democracy is that every persons vote is equal, and every voter is important. Fine in principle but in practice only one thing counts in American Politics - MONEY. Show me the money is the catch cry of any politician who wants to succeed. So big are the budgets now in American politics that it is estimated that any person who wants to be even selected as their parties candidate will have to spend a billion dollars! Raising that kind of money is not possible from mum and dad voters.
Is Barack Obama Electable? Latest Election Polls
Barack Obama is one of the classiest and most eloquent of the presidential candidates but all sorts of questions are being raised about whether or not he is electable. There are a couple of issues that he has to face. The first is that he is an African-American. And the second is that his father was a Muslim despite him being a Christian. Religion and race are factors that should not matter but the latest polls still show that as high as 30% of America will never vote for a Muslim. There is a smaller group of about 10% that would never vote for an African-American. But reality is probably a bit more than just the 10% because many people are probably embarrassed or shy to say so.
Who Is The Real Stephen Harper?
Anyone attempting to get a read on Canada's PM, Stephen Harper, will quickly realize that this is a man who is far from transparent. Some have argued that his dominant trait is a Machiavellian willingness to play the political game in order to maximize his winning potential. The inconsistencies between Harper's declared political standards and his behavior in parliament were clearly demonstrated this week. His attack on the Liberals for their position on anti-terrorism measures due to expire this month, took the form of a smear directed against the family of backbench MP Navdeep Bains. The PM made the accusation that the Liberal opposition to the anti-terrorism measures was driven by their desire to prevent further investigation of Bains's father-in-in-law, Darshan Singh Saini, who is a potential witness in the RCMP's probe of the 1985 Air India bombing.
Political Divide Heating Up!
The political divide is once again heating up even though there is not another presidential election for about three years. Some of the more aggressive political pundits are getting quite literary and creative. Just other day I read this poem on the Internet; The Democrats are divided, because they cannot see the forest for the trees and they are out for everyone to please. Everything is fine if there is a breeze, but once the winds shift the windsurfers is down to his knees. In Iowa they will talk about agriculture and cheese and in NY they talk about Global Warming during the Freeze. Oh they claim there is a rising of the seas, but in the end they will all have to admit that Al Gore is only a tease.
Is the Clinton Political Machine Trying to Get Rid of Obama Before the Campaigning Really Starts?
Some political analysts have declared that the Democrat Race for the nomination for president of the United States has officially begun its campaigning. They cite the recent political rhetoric attacks between Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama. Is the Clinton political machine trying to get rid of Obama before the real campaigning really gets under way? Critics believe it is and they say that because Obama is collecting campaign contributions it could hurt Hillary Clinton's war chest. Most political analysts believe that Obama has no chance of achieving the Democrat nomination because he is inexperienced and the media is giving him too much limelight too soon.
Modern Liberals Claim That They Are Brighter People?
We all know that academia leans more towards the modern liberal skew than the rest of society in the United States. Perhaps you have noticed too that modern liberals claim that they are brighter people, as well? Indeed if many of them are in academia and more educated then one might say they are more learned in such things. Conservatives debate this often, as possessing book knowledge does not make one smarter, for instance the quote about Educated Derelicts by a former President. In studying this claim of modern day liberals indeed, I tend to agree that percentage wise they are often smarter and if you call academic achievement smarter then the motif fits.
