Cain Couldn t Find His Gun

Most people are familiar with the biblical story of Cain and Abel - where a man (Cain) takes a stone and strikes his brother (Abel) - killing him - this was his intention. Biblically speaking - this was the first recorded murder and first crime. Much can be learned from this story.

Gun control advocates would have you believe Cain used a gun to kill Abel - however, we know this can"t be true. After all, guns weren"t invented until hundreds of years later. It"s a safe assumption to assert that guns played no role in this tragic crime of murderous intent. In fact, horrific crimes are described throughout the Old Testament - but I can"t remember any of the stories mentioning a gun.

Common sense is a good thing - don"t you think? Wouldn"t the world be a better place if people used more common sense? Common sense would suggest that people - such as Cain - commit crimes - not guns. Does anyone really believe that more gun control might equal less crime? Why did Cain use a rock to kill his brother Abel? The answer is simple - his intention was to commit a crime - the lack of a firearm certainly didn"t stop the crime - nor did it change his intent.

Responsibility - a word avoided and embraced. What is responsibility? When are people responsible? Why do liberals avoid personal responsibility? It"s seen in their stance on abortion, welfare and more. Common sense would suggest the encouragement of personal responsibility would be beneficial for the world. What sense would it make to hold a gun responsible for a crime? None - but liberals would like to have you believe otherwise. Nevertheless, the question remains - what would Cain have done if he couldn"t have found his stone? Think about it.
