Orkut Users Beware - Google Might Disclose Your Home Location Or Your Computer Location To Police
Orkut, Google"s online community has been in the news since the Anti-Shivaji and Anti-Ambedkar communities came into existence. These irrelevant and speculative communities have ruined the goodwill of Orkut and the lovers/followers of Shri Shivaji and Shri Amberdkar. Since then Orkut has been in news for a several reasons and of course for all the bad reasons. Also, out great Mahatma Gandhi Ji was abused and many related videos were spread on the internet and till now these videos have not been removed from the internet. A case related to Bombay Scottish School kids who famed their infamous community on their principal was also cited on Orkut.
Believe it or not, such issues have been befuddling the Mumbai Police for a long time but Mumbai Police could do a little to avoid these communities without the help of Google. But now the time has come and the Mumbai Police has been equipped with all the necessary equipment required to track such offenders on Google but it wasn"t possible with the assistance of Google. [Thanks to Google for their kind help and for taking late action in this matter.]
Now, with the help of Google assistance, Mumbai Police will now be able to track offenders with the help of a single email containing the IP addresses of the Orkut offenders. A meeting was held with 3 representatives of Google, one from Google, USA and the other two from INDIA and it was agreed that Google will share the IP Addresses of the Orkut offenders with the Mumbai Police in order to nab the fan clubs of Indian gangsters.
Some Indian TV channels & newspapers have claimed that Google agreed tom provide the IP Addresses of such offenders to the Mumbai Police but Google spokesman confirmed that there was no question of Google sharing IP addresses with the Indian police without the suitable lawful procedure being adopted. This doesn"t mean that Google will not provide IP Addresses of such offenders rather Indian Police will have to follow a legal procedure to obtain IP Addresses of such offenders.
The major hindrance in this process was that anyone could claim to be the Mumbai Police but a solution has been found for the same and an encrypted code has also been agreed upon for such a communication in order to stop individuals acting as Mumbai Police. Also, similar measures are being taken for YouTube.com and all the internet websites are being requested to share the information with Police in order to nab such users who are threat to such websites and countries.
Earlier, It wasn"t possible for the Police to nab such offenders as the Orkut server is based in USA and Indian Law has no control over it but now with the help of Google and the computer response team stationed in New Delhi, INDIA, but now it was possible to track offenders posting content from INDIA and such offenders can now be easily tracked. It was also added that Google will follow its own procedure for deciding whether the content should be removed or not.
The moral of this news is "NEVER try to post offending content on Orkut and if you find any such content then do report to Google about this."
