The earth is in the grip of a never-ending slide doe to global warming. Entire species are likely to be lost - even man himself, as this catastrophe continues and bites. And bite hard it will. Except, there are others that would have us think differently. Global warming experts tell us that there will be floods and famine, disease and death across the whole of the earth. Western economies and social structure will be torn and devastated and life as we know it will cease to exist in the way we know it. It is all pretty depressing. The reality seem s to be that predicting climatic change is an exact science.

If you think too much about global warming then you could start to make yourself sick with worry. It, apparently, doesn't exist - at least, not in the form we know and have grown to love. Polar bears have seen the ice cap melt before and they are also still here - OK, I admit, a few of them have lost their lives on the way and it is pretty uncomfortable being on top of a floating piece of ice that has melted off from the main flow - drowning is not nice but neither is being mauled by lions, but the wildebeest don't complain too much 3.

They go wherever they are most happy and comfortable (although you could be forgiven for thinking that they sometimes do some things through sheer bloody-mindedness). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change or IPCC has been reported as presenting the following key findings in its first of four reports scheduled for release in 2007.

Citizens must take control of their future by a non corrupted government system to stop most of the issues involving the homeless, poverty, starvation, slavery, child abuse, corruption, wars and the further destruction of this planet.

I have chosen to become aware of global warming, recycling, fuel efficiency, organic fibres, sweat shops and fair trade. I have made small steps such as: recycling, buying organic foods and products and buying fair trade clothing and accessories. I do not drive a car, but my partner does. You and I do not need to be righteous, world saving "hippies", in order to make a difference. If you and I can take these little steps together we can contribute to saving and changing the world. We can prevent global warming and cruel treatment in the case of slave labour. You may only be one person in a world full of over 6 billion people but you make a difference.
