Global Warming - Shedding New Light On A Sticky Subject
I notice plenty going on in the media these days on the subject of global warming and all the various ways people like you and I can help to counteract it. There is a huge smorgasbord of ideas to choose from ranging from the highly creative to just changing the sort of light bulbs we buy. For example we now know we live in a world where there are ways of producing fuel that is safe, inexpensive and ecological. No more concerns about rising oil prices and unsustainable use of fossil fuels. Just imagine, all the talk and concern about global warming could simply be a thing of the past, slipping permanently and inexorably into the annals of history. This is not just a pipe dream and it"s our good friends the cows that are the ones to help make the dream come true. I heard recently that somewhere in sunny Australia, there lives a vet who is also a very talented dairy farmer and he not only delights in the sight of a bucket of fresh frothy milk, but also the sight of poo glorious poo. It seems that there are enormous possibilities for the uses of resultant methane gas as an alternative fuel. (If I remember correctly from my school days that"s the one that smells like a very mature swamp). And this admirable farmer is producing just such fuel. Granted, he is doing this in a relatively small way, but what if others took up the baton and ran with it? And this is not to say that the vehicles of the future will smell like flatulent cows thank goodness. Imagine the traffic jams, and car sales figures would plummet! But that"s another story.
My point is what a great example of love and money balance that represents. That is, the use of a renewable resource in a cost effective way. After all what do we really want to communicate to our planet? And be assured by burning huge amounts of fossil fuels in all the various ways that we do, we are not communicating anything particularly friendly. If you treated me like that I would probably strike you off my Christmas card list, at least. By protecting our planet and finding new ways to nurture and preserve her we are communicating love. The ramifications of engaging in this type of communication have the potential to be extreme in its benefits in terms of the future of our environment There are thousands of ways for us to attain balance in our lives, the lives of others and the life of the planet when we are in touch with our creative selves and operating from a core of peace. Good news all round, I"d say.
I am not suggesting that this will inspire new and creative thoughts next time you pour milk over your muesli, but you just may find yourself heading for the off switches around the house a bit more often. Here"s to lighting up homes and hearts with love the world over.
