Honour Killings - An Obscured Epidemic In India
Prima facie, the coinage honour killings seems to be purely contradictory. Many of us wonder how in God's name are the terms honour and the brutal lynching of a life in cold blood ever related. We can't even dare to conjure up in the worst of our nightmares of retaining honour by squeezing out pools of blood from our loved ones. We have been cultivated so intelligently to pass on the buck to our notorious neighbor- Pakistan for everything that is disgraceful and nasty. Up until now most of us have been brought up to think that heinous crimes like Honour killings take place in oppressive nations like Pakistan.
China s Condiment Industry In Need of Capital Seasoning
China has now become a big condiment producer, as well as a big market. Today we can see all the major international brands in the Chinese food seasoning market, and they are fiercely competing with local Chinese brands. As the Chinese capital market is opening up and improving, many traditional industries, such as manufacturing and process, are being revitalized and strengthened by private capital investments. So in this renewed and competitive market environment, how can the fragmented Chinese condiment companies break the barriers and become prominent? Industry numbers There are about 32, 000 food flavoring product companies in China, which has created a fragmented market structure.
Should A Global Climate Agreement Hold The US To A Higher Environmental Standard
Yes, the US should be held to a higher environmental standard than the rest of the world. We have benefited from a superior economic growth powered by consumption of a major share of the world's fossil fuels, causing a major share of the world's environmental pollution. We are technically equipped to lead toward a higher environmental standard. Currently, however, it would be a major challenge for the US to assume this leadership role. We will have to wait for a new administration that, hopefully, will want this role for us. The Bush administration has continued to reject actions to reduce global warming pollution.
Intelligence Analysis Vs Operational Analysis - A New Paradigm for the 21st Century
The events of 9/11 changed the entire landscape of who the enemy is and how to fight them. Unfortunately, some in the Intelligence Community (IC) clung to the old ways of doing business. The hope was to mold the enemy into our antiquated way of thinking, instead of adapting to the new threat. Our reliance on technical intelligence was little help when the enemy blended into the neighborhoods of the people that we were protecting. However, our other collection abilities have changed in mid-stride and we are realizing an influx of new capabilities. Unfortunately, it will take time to yield real results.
Denounce or Reject?
Here I go again, shaking things up for the politically aware, provocative thinkers and social butterflies: those who perhaps need a topic to spark conversation at the next social mixer. Here goes... In their final Democratic debate (February 26) at Cleveland State University, just one week before what appears to be critical primaries in Ohio and Texas, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama faced-off. As the showdown on who's the most suitable candidate for the White House began, fingers pointed to: who initially supported a useless war in Iraq; who supported the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) that needs renegotiation;
The Justice of Polygamy
The fact that polygamy is permitted in the Torah is obvious from the many great men who had multiple wives beginning with the three fathers and the six mothers; though the practice was outlawed by the Rabbis with a 1000 year proclamation that ended a few decades ago, still the question remains as to the justice of polygamy-why is a man allowed to have more than one wife while the woman is bound to one man and no more? One of things known about the Creator, stemming from the six days of creation which were divided male and female, is God observes equality; but if God is so concerned about equality than why the disparity?
Weather vs the Real Estate Community - The Ultimate Challenge Over Adversity
Well there can be no doubt that the real estate community has taken a pounding from the turn of events surrounding the bubble burst of the subprime lending fallout. The economics of reality is a monumental barrier to over come. Luckily, most real estate agents, consultants and professionals are tough as nails and they are facing these challenges head on. (Apply directly to the forehead). But, the economics of real estate, as serious as they are currently is not the only obstacle to over come, indeed, the Weather can also play havoc on the real estate community. 2008 has so far been a pretty-tough winter, no not the worst, but hard enough.
