How Much Content Is Enough On Your Website?
You have probably heard by now that content is king. And you may know that this means original, relevant, quality content posted on your website is viewed favourably by the search engines when they are assessing your site for value. I hear it asked by people all the time though just how much content is necessary to have on your site to make it worthwhile. And while the answer is almost never specific I will give you some valuable information from my own experiences.
There is one rule that most of the experts tend to agree upon when it comes to creating websites that are more than just quickly slapped together for the purpose of covering the pages with AdSense or affiliate advertising. This is that the search engines want to see constantly updating websites, which is why blogs are viewed so favorably. Blogs by design are viewed as one page websites where each post, or each article etc that you write then becomes a new page of its own. So on www.myblog.com you will be able to see the last half a dozen posts or so, but say you have a post titled fast cars then you automatically have a page on your site with the address of www.myblog.com/fast-cars.
The point of writing that is just to prove the point again that the more frequently you update your site the better it will perform. But just when that starts to make sense, it is also widely accepted that the content has to come naturally which means not creating a thousand pages at once with some automated tool, because it just does not look natural.
So what is the answer then?. In order to grow a website which you plan make increasingly successful then the best way is really to add content on a daily basis, of course there are several different ways to promote your site, but it is so easy to neglect actually growing your site at the same time that you really can be wasting time. If you think about it, the more content and pages you have on your site the more chance you have of one of those keywords or phrases being picked up on a search and someone finding you.
One new page a day is preferable but understandably not everyone has time to do this, but the more pages you can put up in the natural way the better, so to answer the question of how much content you should have on your site, there can never be enough. The more you grow your site while getting visitors the more traffic you will get to whatever it is that you want them to see.
