Videos - A Must For Today s Website Design
In today's internet marketing industry, the use of videos in creating your website and in promoting your business is a must.
The growth of video and video re-lated sites has erupted, the capabilities have increased tremendously and the cost has fallen to where almost anyone can afford them.
It seems the trend today is, that people have become tired and fed-up with long sales letters and websites that have page after page of copy to read.
Though the content of these sales letters and websites is important and informative, the method of presentation has changed, visitors would much rather watch a 10 minute video to get the same information that would take them 20 to 30 minutes to read.
Let's face it, the old saying you have heard for years is still true today, A Picture Is Worth A 1000 Words.
I believe until just the past few years, it was way to expensive and way too complicated for the average person to make a video. But today, technology has simplified the process drastically, which has in-turn increased how many people are using videos, which has cut the cost of making videos to where almost anyone can afford to make them and use them on their website.
There are many video sites on the internet now, that will show you "video tutorials" on how to produce your video.
To really test this, I joined one of these sites, watched a few video tutorials , followed the instructions in the tutorials and in approximately 40 minutes had produced my first video, nothing fancy, just a short (5 minute) instructional video, but with no experience of making or working with videos before.
Oh, yea, thought I would throw this in, I joined on a trial bases for free and using their software made my video without a camera and I already had a mic, so I produced my video for free.
The equipment you need and the cost really has become reasonable, you need a mic, I suggest you go ahead and get a head-set with a mic ( $15 to $30 ), you will be making more than one video in the future and you will need it, you will need a decent web cam ( $20 to $45 ) should get you one at most computer stores, and you will need a webcast service, here I suggest you do your own research and based on how sophisticated you want your video to be, choose a service to meet your needs. The cost will range from free on up, but when you throw in, what an increase in traffic the video will bring to you, it is well worth it.
When you add video to your website it gives you credibility with the people that visit your site, shows you are up to date with technology and creates trust to keep them on your site.
I also think people have become lazy and spoiled, they will watch a 10 minute video about your website or product, but won't stay and read 20 to 30 minutes of copy.
You can link your video to other sites and to the social networking sites back to your website, there are so many pluses for using videos today.
I strongly suggest that you do some research and get involved in using videos to enhance your website and your business today.
