There are more and more people everyday looking for a way to make money at home on the internet and who can blame them? It seems an ideal lifestyle - no boss, no set working hours and no travel to and from work. But where do you start and can you replace your income making money online?
The first place to start is within yourself. You should question what you would enjoy writing about and communicating to people on a daily basis. This is most likely to be a hobby, pastime or something you"re deeply interested in.
You"ll most likely have to build up to replace your fulltime income and will be doing this extra work in your spare time. By choosing something you"re passionate about it will seem less like work and you"ll be able to maintain your momentum. Once you"re making good money online you can stay at home, give up your day job and you"ll be making money from a pastime. That won"t even seem like work!
You"ll need to invest some money no matter where you start. You"ll need a domain and web hosting at the very least. You can buy other products and services to "speed things up" although they won"t be absolutely necessary when you first start.
Once you"ve chosen your site"s topic (called niche) you"ll need to get your site online and generate traffic to it. You"ll then need a method of converting that traffic into a paying customer (called monetising your site.)
One of the easiest ways to do all of this is to set up a simple site (which means there are not large amounts of web design to learn) and capture your visitors" names and email addresses through an autoresponder. You can then email market to your list and get more than one bite at selling something to them.
One of the main reasons this is the easiest way when you first start internet marketing is that you can gain trust and credibility with your list of subscribers before you ask them to buy. If you think about it logically you"re much more likely to buy from someone you feel knows what they"re talking about and who you trust. It"s the same online.
The key is to get started as quickly as possible and keep going, never giving up and tweaking as you learn.
