It is often a question that new internet users ask of themselves. Should you create your own product or refer an affiliate product? When you first start out in internet marketing it is often difficult to decide how to start making money. Many budding entrepreneurs have spotted the internet as place where money can be made if only they had something to sell. What should you do?
First you should get started. You have to learn all the selling techniques available and find out about all the software available to help you promote and sell products. If you do not already have a product it is normally easier to learn by selling somebody else"s product. This will give you an idea of the kind of products that sell and which may be oversubscribed on the internet.
If you create your own product you could spend an awful long time doing it. Time that would be better spent getting to know the internet. You could put all your time and effort into creating something that will never sell even once. You have to get to understand what is selling and what has been sold already. In other words, you need experience of internet marketing before trying to create a product to market.
Affiliate products are ideal for doing that. You can earn a lot of money by referring affiliate products and also learn a lot about the business of internet marketing.
However, there is another aspect that you have to consider when making your decision of whether to create your own product or sell that of another. The net profit. If you consider the cost of creating a product, getting it into a sellable form and then advertising it, you might be surprised at the total cost. You will also have complaints and returns to deal with. You are legally obliged to provide a guarantee, and some people will purchase your product with the intention of requesting their money back, especially if the product is electronically distributed.
