Advantages And Disadvantages Of Paying For A Safe List

What are the advantages and disadvantages of paying for a safe list?

With the changes in legislation making spam not only illegal, but having the potential to having offenders serve very long jail sentences, people are looking for a way to still have the benefits that email marketing provided.

One such methods is to build your own double opt-in safe list. Unfortunately building a descent size list of your own takes time and money. There are other options though. One of these is joining a safe list. A safe list is a large number of email addresses whereby the owners have agreed to receive emails in return for being able to send out their own. There are literally hundreds of these on the internet, some free, some a one time payment and some a monthly fee.

What is the advantage of paying for membership into a safe list?

- You get to mail more often - in free safe lists you can only email once a week - its a nightmare keeping track of which free safe list you can email in next.

- In a paid safe list - the readers are more likely to part with money - after all they paid for membership to the list didn't they?

- In a paid safe list you are likely to receive less total emails sent to you.

Disadvantages?

- Some have a monthly fee?

- You might be mailing only to other internet marketers

- You don't know what your getting until after you've paid your money.

Despite these considerations overall it is better to pay for entry into a safe list, rather than join a free one.
