Understanding the Shopping Cart Software

Shopping Cart Software is a software used in e-commerce that assists people in making purchases online. It allows the online shoppers to place the products of their choice in the cart. At the time of checkout, the software calculates the total order including shipping and handling charges and the taxes applicable.

An Online Shopping Cart Software essentially includes a database that has all product information, customer database, etc., a storefront that displays all information to the viewer, and an administration area that allows the store administrator to manage the store. The administration area of the cart is what you would be managing.   • Software on your PC or MAC workstation- This cart can be managed on the local computer. To be applied, required changes in the store have to be published. In other words, the changes made need to be transferred from the PC or MAC to the web server.
  • Software on the web server where your e-commerce store is hosted- In this, all software is installed on the web server and not on the local workstation. This system allows flexibility of operation as it can be managed from anywhere. All you need is an Internet connection and a browser that is compatible with the store's control panel.

Browse through the pages to see that the site is well designed and the transactions are easy to perform. You could also try adding a few items to the shopping cart, etc., to ensure that it is customer or user friendly.
