With the introduction of the internet web browser Mozilla Firefox by the Mozilla Corporation in early 2003, Internet Explorer has had to gradually but painfully cede part of its market strong grounding to Mozilla Firefox browser. It is estimated that Firefox is progressively becoming attractive to an increasing number of internet users. Currently, approximately 20% of users actively using it as their preferred web browser. In seeking to understand this phenomenon, it will suffice to ask whether this changing trend can be attributed to changes in consumer s preferences, or a question of aggressive competitive forces on the market terrain or better still, innovative strategic marketing that is working well for one but not for the other? ...
