Pros and Cons of Affiliate Marketing
You have been looking for a work at home opportunity that is going to work for you. You have heard all the talk about affiliate marketing and how it is a great opportunity to make some good money, but you still don't know if it is a good fit for you and your life. There is risk in every business endeavor and it is important to know and weigh the risks against the potential payoffs. I have created a list of pros and cons of affiliate marketing so that you can make a more educated choice.
Pros
You can start as an affiliate marketer with little or no money. You can use free venues to advertise the product you are promoting, even if you don't have a website.
You are selling someone else's product. You don't have to worry about inventory or shipping any of that, you are just bringing the buyer to the seller and earning a commission for it.
Losses are minimized. If you choose to promote a product and it doesn't sell, you are only out the time and money you spent on advertising. You won't have to give your unsuccessful product away for Christmas and birthday presents for the next 10 years. You just move on to another product.
Pros and Cons of Affiliate Marketing
You have the freedom to choose what products you are going to promote and how much you are going to promote them. You are not being watched over by someone telling what you have to sell to the population. You can choose a product that you are passionate about or that you have knowledge of and that makes selling it easy.
Cons
It takes a lot of hard work to set up a successful Campaign for selling a product. This is not a get rich quick scheme. You have to figure out how to get people to the site that is selling the product. This can be done but it is not a quick process, especially when you are just starting out.
You might put in a lot of time without much return. If you choose to sell a product that flops. You will have lost the time and money you put into the campaign. To minimize this, stay on top of your campaigns and know if they are successful. If not, make changes quickly.
Things don't happen overnight and it is easy to get frustrated. We all read about the person who make $3,000 their first week with affiliate marketing, well, that is not most of us. Most of us are going to have to put in the hard work for weeks, even months before we start to see any return on our investment.
As you can see the pros outweigh the cons. Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money if you are committed and willing to stick with it. Remember to work on it every day, don't let a day go by that you don't do something to further your business, and soon you will be on your way to having the success you have always dreamed of.
