Finding Affiliate Programs
Finding affiliate programs is easy. The trick is to find lucrative programs. Keep in mind what's lucrative this week may not be the same next week. Things change from week to week. A successful marketer stays on top of what's going on by continually doing research. Consider looking into affiliate forums by doing web searches. When you find an affiliate forum of your choice, you can join in on the conversations and get more answers to your questions.
The big things to look for in any affiliate program is how they pay. Do they pay on time? Are they at least connected to a reputable firm? What is their reputation? If considering being an affiliate of a small company connected to a major firm, my security questions are directed to that major firm. I question their street address phone number and who else uses them. If the company is small and does not publish their address, that's ok with me if they're guaranteed by a larger reputable firm.
One way of finding hot lucrative affiliate programs is to measure how many affiliate members they have. There's a popular measurement known to many in the business as "gravity." It's merely a measurement dealing with an average of how many affiliates are advertising for a particular product. There is even software that measures the gravity or average amount of affiliates working with what ever item your considering. I mentioned the software so that you would be at least aware of the concept of counting how many other affiliates are with a given product or service. When there are a lot of folks suddenly selling a product, that's something definitely to consider. There is a down side to high gravitation or a lot of people selling the same thing. The down side is too much competition. Finding the right affiliate program is like in the story "Goldie Lockes and the Three Bears." When it came to which cereal bowl to eat from, she didn't want it too hot or too cold. You want it "just right." You don't want too much competition but you do want enough competition to show value. It's touch and go research. Once again, there is no magic wand substitute for research.
