Goals Are Necessary Part 19
Well everybody this series is quickly coming to an end. There are only a couple of submissions left. I encourage everyone to go ahead and use these. Practice them. I use all of these in many ways. I use them for my writing, my affiliate marketing and most importantly for everyday life. Go ahead and get your friends and families to read them as well. Go ahead and print them out. I still may take all these excerpts and make them into an e book that I could easily charge for but for now it"s absolutely free so enjoy.
91. Are Budgets Important
You absolutely are damn straight that a budget is important. How can you go ahead with your business if you don"t know what your costs are going to be? So many people jump in to their businesses and don"t have a clue as to what it"s going to cost them. You need to have control over the money that is allocated for the business. And on top of that you have to do some investigating so you have a very good idea as to what your future expenses are going to be. I suggest one more thing and that"s an emergency fund. It doesn"t have to be a lot and the whole idea behind this is to never have to use it.
92. Don"t Start At The Wrong Time
You absolutely don"t want to open your business at the wrong time. If it"s not the right time of the year to open your business you can still be constructive towards making it succeed. You can be working on a business plan, financials, planning your advertising campaign and many other important things. An example of this is if you"re going to open an ice cream stand then October probably isn"t the best month to do it in because we know there is going to be no business all winter.
93. Watch Your Bottom Line
When you first start out you are going to be paying out a lot more dollars than you will be bringing in. These are overhead costs. There is no way to avoid this but in the beginning especially there are ways to keep your costs down. For example you may have plans for about 7 employees in the future but to start maybe you can get away with a few part time employees and you can try and take up the slack. Success does not come without sacrifice.
94. Advertising
When you are getting ready to open your business you have to make sure you have some different ways of announcing it to the public. When I open a new blog I use articles, press releases, word of mouth and ezines to let people know that there will be a new blog out shortly. This has been one of the reasons that my affiliate marketing program has become so successful.
95. Quitting Days
You"re going to have days that you just want to shut the doors and pretend that the business doesn"t exist. We all have them but what makes them different is how different people react to them. Sure you"re going to have days that you just want to sit down and cry. However while there is no way of avoiding this because it just happens it is important for your customers not to see you like this. So I suggest you practice wearing a smile no matter how your day is going. This doesn"t just go for business either. There are many ways you"re going to have quitting days like if you"re trying to lose weight. So just because you had a bad day is no reason to try harder tomorrow.
Okay you have now read the nineteenth issue of my series on goals. We are over halfway done but there are still more to come. I practice each and every one of these. Oh sure sometimes I have to adjust them a bit but let me tell you they have made my writing and affiliate marketing a whole lot more successful.
