A sluggish metabolism makes it impossible to lose weight. So you need to lose menopause weight by getting your metabolism zooming, the right way.
Your body burns calories constantly from breathing to physical activity. Metabolism is affected by muscle tissue. There are factors that contribute to a slow metabolism and some of those are, meal frequency, lack of physical activity, stress and lack of water.

Probably the most important steps to boost your metabolism is to burn more calories than you take in, and drink water. If you aren't drinking enough water, your systems slow down causing more stress.
You know it's not age that is a factor in a sluggish metabolism, it's that we lose muscle as we age, and it's muscle that speeds up the metabolism so you can maintain and lose weight. Find a way that you are comfortable with to add muscle. You don't have to do bench presses, because there are other ways to increase your muscles.
Learn to know when you are really hungry and when you just want to eat, to eat. If you are drinking the amount of water you need to increase your metabolism, you won't be hungry. Have your small meals planned at a certain time and learn portion control.
