Summer Weight Loss - Make That Bikini Body Rock

Losing weight has become a main and fanatical factor in todays civilisation. With lots of people following celebrity and fashion icons to drop dress sizes to fit into the attire of such fashion icons as Victoria Beckham, dieting needs to be done correctly otherwise you could be risking your wellbeing and develop grave problems in the immediate future as well as long term.

One of the first steps you have to take when dieting to lose weight is to study what you want from it. Planning is a primary part to losing weight because this is what builds up your motivation. So before starting any weight loss program, record what you are doing and write down some milestones that you can successfully achieve. A good start is weighing yourself, recording the weight down and then setting 7 day targets of 1-2kgs or monthly targets of 3-5kgs.

An exercise regime is not required but it can help by increasing the weight loss process, resulting in a healthy approach, if you are running off the body fat and keeping your muscles and organs working. So if you enjoy hiking or dog walking, start doing this for 20 minutes a day, or take up new activities such as squash, badminton or wrestling. If you're not the exercise type or are self conscious of exercising in public then try using a stepper or a rowing machine in the comfort of your own home.

Why not treat yourself to a new dress or DVD, for the hard work you have put in. After reaching a few of your short term milestones, treat oneself or you may lose desire and longing to continue, which wont help with achieving your targets. Even the infrequent snack wont harm, as long as it helps you to refocus on dieting and reaching the targets. It would most definitely be worth it to keep you moving towards your goals and help you to find the newer, more energetic you!

Losing weight, can make us positive and confident. Lots of people try to lose weight in the new year in preparation for their summer holiday or just to look good when the hot weather comes. The panic of not being able to wear that new bikini in the summer because of extra turkey you consumed at Christmas will drive you on to drop weight that bit more.

After all the difficult work, the thought of getting into the gown or items that you couldn't before can help to increase your self esteem and make a greater you - this is why we do it.
