5 Tips To Painless Weight Loss

In speaking to weight loss experts and people who have lost weight and successfully kept it off, I have found 10 tips that seem to be a constant. I will share them with you in the hopes that it makes your journey to your goals a little easier.

Tip 1 What is mine is yours:

The meals served in America these days are huge, so share a meal with a friend and you will be consuming only half the calories you would otherwise eat. Take this mentality as fat as you would like, what about a bike for two, or sharing the cost of a personal trainer? When people work out together, they are more likely to succeed, this is because they have someone cheering them on as well as someone holding them accountable when they make a commitment to exercise. Bring a friend along and your chances of success skyrocket. Share this weight loss tip with friends and soon you may have a whole group doing healthy fun things together.

Tip 2 open up your options

Some people have a bad reaction when they hear the work exercise, it inspires the professional avoider in them. The way around this is to find things that you love to do and never call them exercise. You can work your muscles and burn calories in literally hundreds of ways like:

Swimming
Gardening
Hiking
Playing Frisbee
Jumping rope

The key is to find something that you like to do, this will keep you from avoiding it and have you on your way to better health.

Tip3 Eat the things you love

Find ways to lighten up the foods that you love to eat so that you can still eat them. This will keep you from feeling denied and will help keep you on track. Here are some lighter ideas of favorite foods:

Whole grain pasta
Pizza with low fat cheese
Light sour cream and mayonnaise and salad dressings
Sugar free jam and jelly
Frozen fruit
Baked potato chips

If it is to hard to make the change all at once, start by adding half and half then over time use more of the lighter option and less of the old one. Soon you will be using 100% of the lighter foods and you won't even notice the difference.

Tip 4 Walk it off

If you live in a city where it is easy to walk to the places you normally drive, try taking a walk instead. You will be surprised at how fast the miles add up when you are walking to do your daily errands, and with gas prices you are doing something for your pocketbook as well. Here are some other ways to sneak walking into your daily activates:

park your car at the back of the lot
Trade your power mower for a push mower
Get off the bus a few stops earlier
Take the stairs whenever you can
Take a walk after dinner

Tip 5 Give to yourself for a change

Add foods to your diet instead of taking them away. Start adding healthy foods like fruit that is in season, or veggies right from the garden or your local farmers market. Indulge in the fruits and veggies that you love, allow yourself to eat as much of them as you would like while they are in season. If you focus on all the things you are adding to your diet, it will take your mind off of the things you are choosing to eat less of and you won't miss them as much.

Follow these tips for painless weight loss, and you will be on your way to your goals. Remember that slow and steady wins the race and keep at it.
