Goals - A Must to Lose Weight

If you are trying to lose weight and/or reduce your body fat and you do not have clearly written goals in place, you are taking a very big risk. The truth is by having clearly written goals that you can review regularly, you think about your goal more and as a result become much more likely to take actions that are congruent with you actually achieving that goal.

Having clearly defined weight loss and/or fat loss goals in place provide numerous benefits to you. As I just mentioned, goals get you thinking about what you want to accomplish more frequently and as a result will cause you to take actions that are in harmony with the goal. Another important point worth noting about goals is there motivational ability. You see as you review your goal regularly and think about your goal more and more, you will naturally begin to think about what your life would be like with the goal achieved. You will start thinking about the benefits of reaching your goal and envision yourself experiencing those benefits. This can be incredibly motivational and ties directly back to the idea of getting you to take actions that are congruent and in harmony with the out outcome you desire.

Goals will also give you a sense of direction. Having a clearly defined goal in place is similar to plugging in your end destination into a GPS device before you start out on a trip. You would never try to get anywhere without first establishing exactly where it is that you are trying to go would you? Of course not! Yet this is the exact equivalent of what many people are doing when they try to lose weight without setting a clear specific goal before they begin.

Is it possible to lose weight and develop the type of body you really want without setting clear goals? Yes. Is it as likely to happen? No. Will it happen as quickly as if you had set goals? Probably not. Do many more people have success in developing the type of bodies they really want when they set goals? Absolutely!

Realize how important and how beneficial setting clear specific goals are prior to beginning on your quest to lose weight and body fat. By so doing, you will greatly improve the chances that you will succeed! If you are skeptical of this idea, I challenge you to simply give it a shot and try it. You may be very surprised with what happens!
