Hydroxycut Review - Does It Really Work? Even Without Ephedra?
HydroxyCut Review
Everyone has seen HydroxyCut's ads on TV and the internet. Back in the good old days of Ephedra, HydroxyCut was an pretty good diet pill. But does it still live up to its reputation? Or is now it just another run-of-the-mill supplement? Let's take a look at HydroxyCut and find out if it can live up to its claims:
HydroxyCut's Claims
HydroxyCut doesn't make any claims about the product itself, which I like. A lot of diet pill companies make unsubstantiated claims and get busted by the FTC. HydroxyCut has found a way to circumvent the whole "claim marketing" by publishing a few studies on HydroxyCut's primary ingredients. In one study, subjects lost 11.93 pounds more than using a placebo. Impressive.
It's impossible to say you will see the same results using HydroxyCut. Although a few of HydroxyCut's ingredients were used in the study, we do not know one important--NO, VERY IMPORTANT--fact: how much of each ingredient was used. HydroxyCut fails to disclose this and I've got a pretty good hunch why. I'm thinking that the study's subjects were given MUCH higher doses of the primary ingredients than what HydroxyCut gives you in a serving. I have no proof to back this up, but it makes sense. If a company uses a small quantity of expensive, effective ingredients, they get the benefit of advertising the efficacy of the ingredients, while cutting their their costs.
What worries me even more, is the fact that they do not offer a guarantee. From my experience, if a company does not offer a guarantee, they DO NOT have confidence in their product. This only further solidifies my previous claim
I really do like HydroxyCut as a company though. They are not involved in deceptive marketing such as "free trials" and "auto ship" programs. Hats off to them for that. I also really love their website: it's got a lot of helpful information, such as exercise demonstrations, articles on healthy eating, recipes and even calculators. I've never seen anything quite like it from a diet pill company.
Conclusion
As for the product HydroxyCut, I give it a B-. It has quality ingredients (although, in insignificant quantities) that may promote some weight loss. Most people I've spoken with have lost between 1 and 3 pounds with one bottle, which-- believe it or not--is above average for a diet pill. I would recommend this product if it offered a money back guarantee, but unfortunately, they do not. SO, I do not recommend this product.
