3 Reasons Why Your Weight Loss Diet Won t Work
It's amazing how many people ask me why their weight loss diet is failing. Little do they know there are very obvious reasons as to why it's not the best weight loss plan for them. (At least it's obvious to me) Check out these 3 reasons as to why 9/10 diets will fail you:
1. The diet is too restrictive.
When I say restrictive, I mean in terms of calories and decent food. There are some diets such as the cookie diet that restrict you to as low as 800 calories a day! In order for your body to effectively lose weight in a safe way, you need to have at least 1500 to 2000 calories a day, AT LEAST. Some diets also restrict all the decent foods that are tolerable to even eat, which causes people to binge and cheat more often.
2. You don't want to exercise.
I'm going to be honest, if you want to lose weight, your going to need to at least do some form of exercise. Don't be scared away by that, it doesn't have to be hard! You can walk your favorite pet around the block or walk down the street to get the mail. You can lose weight without working out, but it's going to come a lot slower, and you won't be as healthy without it. Exercising strengthens your heart and speeds up your metabolism, enabling you to keep off that weight in the long term. A good practice is also to park further away at work, if you walked an extra hundred feet every time you went in or left to work, that can be an extra 200 feet of walking a day, or an extra 1000 feet a week! Give it a try!
3. You aren't giving it enough time to work.
Most people eating a healthy diet and exercising can tell a difference in themselves in as little as a few days to a week. This is excellent except for the fact that people need validation from others that they are actually losing weight. When this doesn't happen almost immediately, alot of people tend to get discouraged. Give it about 2 weeks and you will have random people asking you, "Have you lost weight?"
Give these 3 tips a try and see if it doesn't work for YOU. Persistance is the key. Once you start seeing the snow ball effect you'll be hooked and it won't seem nearly as hard!
