Is Your Colon Killing You? - 5 Steps to a Healthy Colon

It may be hard to believe but the FDA reports that the average person has 5-15 pounds of fecal matter in their colon.

This "fecal plaque" coats the inside of your large and small intestines making it impossible to absorb the vital nutrients your body needs and robbing you of energy and vitality.

Wait, it gets worse. Living in this garbage could be as many as 100 different types of parasites that eat the food meant for your body and leave you with their waste and deadly toxins.

How can you know if you have plaque and parasites inside your colon right this minute?

It's easy!

1. Have you ever eaten fast-foods?
2. Have you ever eaten store-bought foods?
3. Have you ever eaten processed foods?

If you answered 'yes' to any one or more of those questions there is a 99.9% likelihood that you have parasites living in your guts that absolutely DON'T belong there.

Cleansing the the colon is as important as keeping external skin and hair clean.

5 Easy Steps to Improving Your Health:

1. Drink plenty of clean water. It has been estimated that 90% of Americans are under-hydrated most of the time. The most important thing anyone can do for their colon and overall health is to increase their intake of water. A good rule of thumb to know how much to drink per day is to divide your weight (pounds) by one-half and drink that many ounces of water a day. In other words a 150 pound person should drink 75 ounces of water a day (or a little more than 9 8-ounce glasses full). Not drinking that much, are you?

2. Eat a varied and balanced diet. You should try and eat some foods from all the food groups everyday, including dairy, protein, fruits and vegetables, and fats. Also consider taking a daily vitamin and mineral supplement to make up for any nutrients your diet lacks.

3. Avoid processed foods. The fresher the food, the better. If you can, eliminate (or at least reduce) food that has artificial preservatives. These are lunch meats, sausage, ham, hot dogs and most pre-packaged foods. Sodium nitrites and sodium nitrates have been shown to play a role in the development of colon cancer. Shop often and cook fresh food instead of buying those that have a longer shelf life due to added preservatives.

4. Exercise daily. Check with your doctor. Then start a suitable exercise program that will help you get enough activity to keep your colon working as it should.

5. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Your mother was right. Your body needs fiber to keep clean. Fiber also gives your colon a necessary workout to keep you from getting constipated. Regular bowel movements help to keep the colon functioning properly.

Follow these five steps, have regular yearly checkups after age 40 and you will go a long way to keeping your colon happy and living a healthy life.
