Forms of Rosacea Treatment

Any person with symptoms assembling the ones present in Rosacea must immediately see a dermatologist. If you are diagnosed with Rosacea, you should know there is no actual cure for the condition and its real cause of development is still unknown. Ways of keeping Rosacea under control are still available and must be used in order to prevent the condition and its symptoms from evolving into more serious complications. The currently available treatments for Rosacea are aimed on reducing the facial redness, the skin eruptions and the skin inflammation.

After he has established a precise diagnose of Rosacea, the dermatologist will prescribe oral antibiotics to prevent eruptions like papules or pustules and keep the condition under control. After the initial phase, an antibiotic gel will be required to control facial symptoms such as inflammation and redness. Together with your physician you will try to find out which of your lifestyle factors are contributing to Rosacea and control them to avoid further flushing or blushing.

The use of oral antibiotics is also restricted due to its side-effects like stomach problems and increased sensitivity to sun, so the most durable and helpful treatment will be to identify and control the triggers of the condition. Signs of improvement will only appear after a few weeks of treatment and you will need to keep using topical products as Rosacea cannot be cured and requires a permanent treatment to prevent further complications.

The most commonly used oral antibiotics in the treatment of Rosacea are Tetracycline, Minocin, Minocycline and Erythromycin. Additional skin care products containing vitamin K, Arnica and minerals may also be supportive for the long-term treatment.

Alternative medication for preventing the occurrence of papules and pustules are products containing the vitamin A and found in products like Accutane or Roaccutane both with increased content of Isotrentinoin. This particular product has high anti inflammatory properties and works by inhibiting the function of the sebaceous glands physically shrinking them.

The most benefic topical medication for Rosacea seems to be since 1989 Metronidazole helping to reduce the flare-ups and keep the condition under control. This medication can be found under different brand names such as Metrogel, Metrolotion and Metrocream with an amount of 75% Metronidazole, and Noritate with 1% active product.

Another miracle treatment for Rosacea seems to be Rosacea Ltd III containing zinc oxide, magnesium sterate, iron oxide, sodium chloride, polyethylene glycol and sulfur. The manufacturing company affirms all Rosacea sufferers have experienced real improvement after 40b days of using the product.

For preventing papules and pustules from appearing on the facial skin surface, azelaic acid seems to be also helpful.
