Laser Hair Removal For Teenagers

Laser hair removal has become increasingly popular for teenagers as parents and teens have realized that laser hair removal is much more economical and efficient for removing unwanted hair as opposed to waxing and other methods such as threading or shaving. This savings is contributed to the fact that laser hair removal is permanent! Parents of teenagers have commented that going through years of painful waxing and trying different hair removal methods takes up a lot of time and effort. Laser hair removal is a permanent solution to unwanted hair for teenagers and adults. One thing to keep in mind is that the laser cannot prevent future hair growth which means it can target only follicles which presently have a hair. Although the procedure is permanent, young teenagers may end up with new hair growth or future hair growth later on in life. For women, this is unlikely to occur in areas such as the legs, arms, bikini and underarm, however, hair growth in areas such as the chin and neck often reflect potential hormonal imbalances. For the chin and neck area, because it is normally a hormonal area for teens as well as adults they may need additional treatments rather than 5-7 sessions (possibly 8 to 10 sessions) and if the body did go through a hormonal change later on in life such as after pregnancy, one may have to touch up the area from time to time. Future hair growth is also more common for women on the face as oppose to the body since there are 4x more follicles on the face as oppose to the body and many of these follicles are dormant as a teenager. If hair in these areas are still in the process of developing it may be better to wait until the age of 18+ years old, when the hair growth has subsided, during which time they may wax as a temporary option.
