What is Check 21?

Check 21 or the, "Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act" is a decree that enabled electronic research collection, processing and clearing between banks in the United States. The Federal Reserve had been investigating electronic proof processing by reason of the year 2000 with a focal point on speeding up test processing and reducing transportation related delays. Washed-up the collective efforts of production officials and Federal Reserve staff, the deed took shape and was presented before the US congress in the year 2002.
