Dispute Your Credit Record - Have Inaccurate Information Removed

If you find incorrect information in your credit report, or if you see a debt listed in your report that you know is not yours, you should dispute your credit record to the credit bureau in order to have the item removed. The way to dispute an inaccurate item in your credit record is to send a letter to the credit bureau explaining why you think the item is incorrect and asking that it be removed.
