Microsoft Annoying Or Advancing?

Most of us will have Windows operating system on our computers. And a good few of us will complain that Windows is unstable, temperamental and highly annoying. But, what is the evidence and, are our experiences anecdotal?

Businesses small and large have made a slow transition to stable operations systems- or so they thought. Symantec, a leader in system security, has recently released news that Windows is actually the most stable operating system- surprising many.

Microsoft has often been bashed for having holes and security problems through the years, but Symantec has shown in research reports that Microsoft is actually doing the best out of the leading competitors.

Microsoft has the fastest patch time when vulnerabilities are found, and the fewest number of patches in total. The top six operating systems were all fully analyzed, and Red Hat linux took second place- surprising just about everyone.

It is quite likely that Microsoft has more attention called to its vulnerabilities due to the number of systems using it is substantial, making more people affected by patches and vulnerability warnings than that of other operating systems. Not to mention, that some people just like having fun at Microsoft"s expense- something that will probably never change.

The news was a big blow to the linux community, who always boasted better security than Microsoft. It will be quite interesting to see how the fan boys will reach to the recent news concerning Microsoft. And, if the news spreads to the general public, can we expect a greater number of people accepting the Microsoft way and therefore cementing, even further, their hold over home computing?
