HP Compaq Nc8430 Notebook Computer Review
The nc8430 from HP offers business grade features in a compact notebook computer. One of the fastest selling laptop computers offered by HP and including features like a 15.4 inch wide screen monitor, 80 gig hard drive, and a flex drive with DVD / CDR capabilities make the nc8430 a solid choice for home or office.
Preloaded with Windows XP professional and 2gb of ram the nc8430 opens programs quickly and makes browsing the internet effortless. In fact our reviewers were able to open multiple browser windows and programs without the computer freezing up or lagging. It impressed us most when we used photo and video editing programs that require heavy resources, in terms of ram and processing power, without bogging down the nc8430. The speaker quality was impressive considering their size and we found at higher volumes a surprising full rich room filling sound.
However, if you are buying the nc8430 for the purpose of storing mp3s and playing music we recommend the addition of larger desktop speakers perhaps with a sub woofer for maximum enjoyment. The high quality continues with a shock mounted hard drive that ensures your data is safe even if the laptop is bumped sharply or even dropped. With a durable external case and magnesium chassis we consider this laptop to be one of the most durable on the market. The impressive performance and durability of the nc8430 will not come at a modest price. Our test model cost just south of $2000 that we considered a value but could give the unsuspecting laptop shopper sticker shock.
