The "law of attraction" is the hottest topic in spiritual development talked about in The Secret and by talk show host Oprah Winfrey, writer Louise Hay, producer/publicist Rhonda Byrne, and many others. The basic idea of the law of attraction is that on a conscious or subconscious level, we invite people, objects, experiences, and even cancer into our lives. What we give our attention, the idea goes, we experience in our lives. That's true whether we welcome it or we fear it. If we think about it, it comes into being for us.
