Five Surefire Tips to Make Money on Ebay - Ways to Obtain and Retain Your Business
It's no big secret nowadays, Ebay is simply on fire. How can you take advantage of some of the success many power sellers have been basking in? It's real simple actually, knowing but not following through with some of these tips might mean a hard time finding the "Secret" to success. As an avid Ebay user for over seven years, I have learned a lot from power seller gurus. Here are some of the key money making elements that we have shared in common:
Tip#1-Be truthful and be at every consumers beck and call. There is nothing worse than ignoring all of your interested buyers questions. Even more crucially, buyers are armed with more money to spend than you would think, they are of course the entrepreneurs of online auctioning. I know if I don't get an answer to a question I have posted, this would really make me skeptical purchasing the goods or services that he is selling. Also, be prompt, be courteous, and be honest. A little bit goes a long way toward a great reputation. Because even on an auction site, people can refer good business your way. Just like selling cars or real estate. In the end, you'll score more traffic, more money, and it's that simple.
Tip#2-Don't overcharge or make up an excuse for higher shipping costs. This is really bothersome to me, and for a couple reasons. I have heard from many, that the true reason sellers overcharge on shipping is to take into account Ebay fees. Fees are supposed to be paid for by the seller, and it's such a small fee for obtaining cheap advertising aimed towards millions of potential buyers. No sense stiffing out your future business on the count of an extra fifty cents, the buyers are not responsible for paying the sellers bill. It just doesn't seem fair. Secondly, I see a lot of sellers charging for quicker shipping services per their auction post, and then they end up sending it first class and pocketing the profits in the process. If the seller should decide to send a package USPS Priority mail, do so. It's just another way of keeping that customer retention.
Tip#3-Do some market research. If you stick to one segment of various items to buy and sell, you'll easily find the bargains and you'll have some expertise in a particular niche. I have been selling and buying sports memorabilia for quite some time and have made some fantastic money doing so. It's a niche I'm always interested in, so it's easy to keep my focus on it. If you dedicate some time into knowing what hot markets are available, you can rake in some serious supplemental income. And don't ever be afraid to look at the Hot List under the Selling tab to know what's the best money makers out there, it's like taking an exam with the answers available to you. Just another fabulous tool to take advantage of.
Tip#4-Utilize your feedback gauge to monitor specific data. Know your community and research potential hot markets. A lot of members have profiles for you to examine, it's just another tool to add to your arsenal. In addition, use the feedback score to block potential problem scammers and bidders. It's surprising how one problem buyer or seller can ruin the party. And lastly, use good judgement, leave pleasant feedback as often as you can. This is more or less a meter in trust, aids in developing rapport with multiple clients for future referral sales.
Tip#5-This is always a plus in my book, make as many payment options available to your clients. Paypal is one such service that'll go along way toward future sales success. You can accept credit cards through this service and make payments immediately to not only ebay, but other outside vendors as well. With Paypal, your transactions will be tracked. And when something scammy does happen, you have the ability to report the scammer and file a chargeback to get your money. I just feel more comfortable buying from a seller that accepts Paypal. Simply an outstanding option and one that should never be ignored.
And for the final unnumbered tip, have fun!! You would be amazed at how many people make their living trading, selling, and buying online. It's a great hobby and one that can pay dividends. Hopefully this is some helpful information. Good luck in all of your future sales endeavors!!
