In 2005, I started looking for a grant program to buy a small business. People told me that it was impossible but I was determined to at least give it a try so I began researching... Almost 18 months later - I got $200, 000 (totally free) and $100, 000 zero interest loan to purchase a bankrupt restaurant in my town. The Government gave me money for free. Just to buy a business. I was one of only 3 people to apply. It was a lot of work and I got a good lesson in what NOT to do... but in the end I owned a half million dollar asset for free!
