Working in Hospital Scrubs in an Emergency Room Can Be Hectic

If you have ever set foot into the emergency room of your local hospital, you know just how hectic life can be in the hospital setting. People running from place to place, patient's milling about waiting for their turn, and loved ones sitting anxiously awaiting word on someone already inside. There are so many things going on at one time that it can become quite overwhelming. When you stop to observe the hustle and bustle of the people in that hospital, it makes you realize just how wonderful the medical professionals are who work in that situation every day.

For some of the medical professionals, they thrive on such chaos. They love the thrill of bouncing from patient to patient, solving mystery after mystery. The active nature of the emergency room is exactly what these special individuals thrive on. They proudly wear their white scrub jackets as they proceed from room to room to give either good or bad news to a patient.

If you ask anyone who might work in the emergency room of a hospital, they will tell you that there are some days that have more patients admitted than others. Any Friday the thirteenth will find more patient's than usual. Also, whenever there is a full moon, the strange patient's seem to creep out of the woodwork. The day's surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas also seem to have an increase in the number of patients that walk into the emergency room. For whatever reason, these days seem to be extra hectic! On these extra busy days, those medical professionals who are wearing their urbane scrubs generally keep their eyes wide open, as they are even likely to be pounced on by a patient when they least expect it.

Life in the emergency room is unlike any other experience that you can imagine. The doctor's who work in the ER on a daily basis see more trauma in one night than most people see in their entire lives. The doctors and nurses who dedicate their time to working in the emergency room are unique, special individuals and should be treated as such. The individuals who wear their scubs to work deserve our utmost respect.

So the next time that you have to visit the emergency room for one reason or another, take the time to notice just how much work your doctor is putting in. Although it may seem as though you are waiting unnecessarily long to see the doctor, keep in mind that they are probably seeing numerous patients all at one time, and there may be others who are in more critical condition than you are. Doctors care about all of their patients, so simply have some patience and they will be sure to treat you to the best of their ability!
