Maintaining A Fresh Vision For Your Business Will Lead To Increased Profits
Many times in life we feel as though we get stuck in rut or have this big idea and do not know really where to go next.
I was on the phone last night with folks from all across the country and Canada and spoke on the subject of "visioneering." Andy Stanley originated this term and even wrote a great book on this topic with the same title.
Vision is defined as "having mental sight." What does this mean? To have a mental sight means literally to see something in your mind. Or, to visualize what does not yet exist as though it is standing right in front of you.
So, the ultimate question, "How do I possibly accomplish the thing(s) that I cannot see as a tangible thing?"
First we need to look what this is really saying into context. It all boils down to a little thing called Faith. Faith is defined as the SUBSTANCE of things HOPED for and the EVIDENCE of things NOT seen.
So....let's break this down then, we will get into some practices.
When it comes to having a vision, we need to understand first and foremost that there is no possible way that most real visions can be accomplished on our own. There must be a SUBSTANCE or a SOURCE to causing this thing to exist. In business, this may come through outside investors, or by delegating, or possibly reproducing.
A substance is a tangible thing. To hope is to have absolute expectancy. So...what this is saying is really this, "...now faith is the tangible substance (something you can touch and feel or possibly see as a reality) of absolute expectancy (a full knowledge that something can and will exist) and the evidence of things you cannot see." WOW!
Now...with that said, let's take a look at a few things.
The first thing you must have in order to truly move forward is to have what I call NOW sight. NOW sight is focusing on the things that exist NOW and focusing on the Something that can then lead to my SOME-THING. It is taking action....NOW!
The second thing you must have is what I like to call Forthright. Forthright is defined as vision that leads to a forward action. In other words, taking steps in goal GETTING rather than just goal SETTING. Again....taking action, but in a forward direction.
Lastly, Foresight. This is the sight that leads to the end result. Always begin with the end in mind. Focus on what you desire most...see it as a reality....see it....conceive it....then believe and receive for it through your NOW sight and your Forthright.
Your Foresight is the end result.
I had a gentleman on the line with me last night that commented that he personally reviews each of his goals twice a day. Once in the morning before he begins his day, and the other before he goes to bed for the night.
So, I would like to encourage each of you reading this....what is your "end result" and what ACTION are you taking to get you there.
