Painful Tattoos - How to Minimize Your Tattoo Pain

How much will it hurt has got to be one of the top questions asked when it comes to getting a tattoo. No matter who you are or your life experiences, tattoos will hurt to some degree or another. You are after all repeatedly piercing your skin with thousands of needles a minute, would you really expect that to be a very pleasurable feeling?

Of course pain levels are relative to the person experiencing it. After all, people will undergo the exact same procedures, such as child birth, and some will tell you it barley hurt, well others will tell you the pain was the worst they have ever felt. The same holds true for tattoos. Some will feel that tattoo pain is minimal well others feel it is extremely severe. Everyone has their own pain tolerance level and how you receive pain, therefore your tattoo should be based on the same scale. If small things feel incredibly painful to you, then a tattoo may not be the body modification for you. If you barely flinch at severe pain, your tattoo may just feel like a minor skin irritation. It all depends on your relative pain tolerance level.

Pain is a major part of the tattooing experience. How painful it is depends on a few different factors such as where you have chosen to place your tattoo, the colours you have picked for it and your mental state of mind when it is being applied. Being prepared for the experience you are about to endure, means you will be less tense and stressed and therefore will make for a less painful experience. If you go in unprepared and sure it will hurt more then you can tolerate, guess what, it will. By being prepared and ready for the process ahead you can have a more positive experience and be ready and waiting for your next tattoo.
