The Graves and Birthdays Inside Her Smile

The graves and birthdays inside her smile.

Kali this Now.

Blue sky, green leaves; the meaning
of growth, he and she, and the variegated
plants who need partial shade.

Her look and his blindfold hiding
clear-eyed legal blindness.

A touch that whistles for the sinister,
a touch that demolishes the humanity-shell
huddled up against itself,
forming the archaic coating of Gaia-egg
#whatever the population is today.

Taunt clotheslines,
God leaving the egg laying alone to the
sweeping of the tide's misappropriated
tidal-seasons, tidal-happenstances and
surprise relationships with coral reefs
who never stop increasing
their solid hull-breaking-it-nesses.

Finally the perfect day feel apart,
Finally the exactness broke apart,
Finally the reasoning stopped art,
Finally the excesses wore their ballroom
gowns bundled up inside their tall hat
chambers in the pouring rain, while
hopscotching across cityscapes buried
beneath vacant prairies of Bulgarian cafes
and repair shops subconsciously addicted
to accidentally breaking the perfectly-well
while fixing the perfectly-worn out.

The leaving is terrifying...
Some innocently abandoned arenas are
made of silk and fly-skeletons.
Then there are the severed oak giants,
barkless and potholed-filled with acorns
waiting for November or December frosts.

The hunch is back.

The mermaid's labor screams are soaked
up inside the amber color of the beer being
drunk by those living close to the shoreline
and a midnight diver's love affair with
secret coves who are underground,
lit by want and endured by a heart beating
to a sonnet-rhythm none have completely
put to memory.

She hears the water running,
the battle gears gushing grease,
the sages crippling forest walks,
the magic crackling beneath a newborn's
laughter at mirrors who show a view straight
through themselves, an endlessness,
a non-lessening of how this life is tasted,
how its Bengal stripes lift up and shred
the god-pencils who drafted them.
