Just because an unruly child cries
Doesn't mean you have to yield
Nor give in to their every whim.
Just because a woman is beautiful
Doesn't mean she's pure within.
Just because a lady has pretty lips
Doesn't mean she will speak graciously.
Just because a person is frustrated
Doesn't mean they must respond angrily.
Just because your expectations are unmet
Doesn't mean you must make all miserable.
Just because you are a diligent hard worker,
Doesn't mean you are tireless and indefatigable.
Just because you give of yourself wholeheartedly,
Doesn't mean you have to let others use and abuse
Your loving kindness and willingness to be good
After all your generosity means you can say no
Without intimidation, guilt, reservation, and fear
Because you give consistently throughout the year.
Just because you are pleasant, peaceable and agreeable
Doesn't mean you cannot disagree and voice your opinion.
Just because you are sweet, elegant, and tender hearted
Doesn't mean you cannot possess authority and take dominion.
Just because your spouse vocalizes emotionally their many wants
Doesn't mean you have to bend over backwards to full them all.
On the contrary you can live authentically and possess individuality.
Just because your friends call and want to go out and celebrate
Doesn't mean you have to drop what you are doing and aggravate
Your plans, program, purpose, agenda, hubby, house, and family.
Honestly, you should be free to say no to friends and do so fearlessly
Without feeling fickle, foolish, or as if you might easily offend someone
Those who are easily irritated and judgmental are simply not any fun.
Neither are they worth obsessing over, nor excessively worrying about
Lift up your head free from pity therefore and without a bit of remorse or doubt
Knowing just because something may be, doesn't mean you must yield entirely.
