When Convenience Kills - Something to Think About
When convenience kills
Is such even a possibility?
Could such a thought be
An absolute foolish absurdity?
Perhaps a mistatement entirely?
No my friend on the contrary
For even I myself do also agree
I appreciate modern convenience
I consider it indeed a brilliance
However when it begins to kill
That is a deadly and toxic pill
Something I can't happily swallow
Eagerly, nor blindly with a thrill
Because pesticides on plants
Eventually enter our mouths
Pass through the blood stream
Hinder our physical well being
Harming babies and adults alike
Diminishing sexual reproductivity
Reducing your immune system
Than there are foul food additives
Which preserve and prolong food
While adding to our kidneys toxicity
Polluting our livers with artificiality
Harmful chemicals we can't pronounce
"But the food has a longer shelf life!"
Yes, but upon ingestion, your life dies
Your life dwarfs! Your life is thwarted
"Oh, but it tastes so very good!"
Does it? Perhaps it's a bit addictive
Those phony food additives with taste
They your body despise and disgrace
See the breakout all over your face
As your body tries fervently to detox
Your immune system depleted in shock
Your energy dissipating and dwindling
"Quick, pop a pill, or have another coffee!"
Not good health for longevity you see.
Plastic bags, styrophome, every ingenuity
Sometimes harms the environment rapidly
Hospitals flushing dirty drugs down the toilet
Later to enter the water supply for drinking
When will we realize and begin to start thinking?
Convenience without common sense does kill
Awake to its dangers before it does from you steal.
