The Challenges Of Selling Antique Violins
Violins can be worth a lot of money can't they? The answer is yes but from this point on the whole thing gets very complicated. Some are worth hundreds, others worth thousands and all the progressions up to those worth several million dollars for a very unique violin. The first challenge is to find out which value level your violin is worth. The first worry that comes to mind is whether the guy appraising my violin is undervaluing it so that he can cheat you. The next worry is that he says it is good but you must invest hundreds or thousands of dollars to fix it up to make it worth that amount.
Review of Megadeth s Endgame
Went out yesterday and got a copy of Megadeth's newest release, Endgame. If you are a true metal fan and a fan of the guitar, this is the album for you! In true Megadeth fashion, Endgame begins with the most blistering instrumental I've heard in a while. Dialectic Chaos definitely sets the tone for the rest of the album. Chris Broderick and Dave Mustaine trade off guitar solos on this first track making you beg for more. Megadeth wastes no time ripping into track two, This Day We Fight! , fast and furious reminiscent of Rust in Peace. If the talent of guitarists Dave and Chris isn't enough by now, you need to clean your ears out!
Ear and Voice Training For Kids - Using Do-Re-Mi Part 2
In part 1 of this series, I mentioned how the "Do-Re-Mi" song from "The Sound of Music" can help your child learn how to sing more effectively. There are 2 ways to use this song. The first way is called "Interval Training". The "Do-Re-Mi" song fiddles around with what's called a "major scale". There are lots of different types of scales in music, but as the saying goes - "This is a very good place to start.". Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Ti-Do represent all of the notes in a single octave, or iteration, of a major scale. Without getting into the technicalities of what a major scale actually is, understand that the distance between each note is defined in music as an "interval" i.
Ear and Voice Training For Kids - Using Do-Re-Mi Part 3
In part 2 of this series, I talked about how the "Do-Re-Mi" song from "The Sound of Music" can be used to teach vocal interval training to kids in a fun way. But hitting the note correctly is only one aspect of singing a song. The second aspect has to do with "how" you sing each note. This represents the style of the song. Music is a language that is generally learned logically, but is actually performed emotionally. That emotion comes from how a song is sung. A song can be sung loudly, or softly. It can be sung smoothly or in clipped tones. You can sing with your throat, or "use your diaphragm".
Why I Love Photography
There is no simple answer to why I love photography. What can be captured in a picture goes well beyond what could ever be captured with words. While aiming through the viewfinder and searching for the perfect angle, the perfect flicker of light, and the perfect smile, grimace, scream, or flock of hair, there is a sense of calmness and peace that comes over me. It's as if nothing else exists beyond the reach of my zoom button. The best types of photographs are those that come unrehearsed, unscheduled, and without prompting. It's the moment when my little sister leans forward in her beautiful white dress and catches the lips of her new husband for the first time as a wife.

The Best Classical Guitarist - Who is It?
The classical guitar is looked on by fans of other styles of guitar playing as technically advanced but a little starchy. Of course, to use the guitar to faithfully interpret works written for the piano or violin does need a formidable technique. Most classical guitarist students would be looking ahead a year or two to the time they could call themselves fully fledged guitarists. The pioneer of classical guitar is Andres Segovia. His first guitar tuition was rooted in the tradition of flamenco even though he was never really interested in flamenco as material for his guitar playing. His interest in the contemporary music of Spain and in the works of J.
